Spring Storm

Had a short, but beautiful spring storm........lots of ice and snow. I DO love to see the snow and ice - but know, too, the problems they can cause. We lost part of our Bartlett pear tree in the front yard - it had leafed out and the branches were just too heavy, with the ice. About a third of it came down on the end of our front porch, not damaging the porch but tearing up the rose trellis. Ice-covered trees are just gorgeous - makes everything look like a fairy-land, sparkling like diamonds in the bright light. Had to get out and take some photos ... the daffodils and some tulips were bravely holding their heads up out of the snow, reminding me that, yes, this IS Spring! And just a day or so later, it's looking like Spring again - and those very same daffodils and tulips are standing up proving it. :) John was out with the chain saw this afternoon cutting up the part of our tree that came down - more firewood.
